There’s a storm brewing, and there’s nowhere to hide

Evil wind’s gonna blow away anything that’s not tied

I ain’t gonna wait around for the lord to provide

When your back’s to the wall you know it’s time to choose a side

 

I don’t ever run even when I’m being chased

But I paid too high a price for decisions that were made in haste

If you think I’m joking take a look at my face

‘cause my back’s to the wall, and I got no more words to waste

But the bigger they are the harder they fall

I sure hate to fight but you know I can’t let them make me crawl

There’s bonfires out on the highway and the riot squad’s been called

I got nothing to lose with my back to the wall

 

Some days I feel like my world is gone

I’m a two-time exile, and there’s no place I belong

I can’t even find a hook to hang my thoughts on

And my back’s to the wall, I may not be here long
